The Shape of What Remains

Installation

2023

In this project, I explored installation work on a larger scale. This experience allowed me to see space differently and experiment with materials like yarn and nylon, which I find flexible and engaging, and plan to use more in my future work.

This piece tells the story of a human journey from beginning to end. At the start, when we look at ourselves in the mirror, we see a complete and flawless image—a reflection of hope, energy, and expectation for the future. As we move along the path, encountering obstacles and experiencing pain and difficulties—which are emphasized with red yarn—our image changes. The breaks and wounds leave their marks and transform us. The broken mirror symbolizes this change and damage; each crack tells a part of our story. Ultimately, the work shows that although life confronts us with challenges and suffering, these experiences are part of shaping our identity and moving forward toward the future.
